The Founder of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra
State, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma Wednesday denied having any rift with
another priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, who also runs the Holy Ghost
Adoration Ministry, Enugu.
The social
media had been awash with reports that the two Catholic priests preached
against each other, thus causing ripples among their numerous followers. But
denying any rift between them, Father Obimma said he was shocked when his
attention was drawn to the publications, attributing certain statements to him
and Fr. Mbaka, adding that those behind the publications were only interested
in destroying the cordial and brotherly relationship between him and his senior
priest, Fr. Mbaka.
He said in an interview: “Such a thing never happened. There
is no way I will preach against my fellow priest on the pulpit, I have so many
things to say, other than ranting and dropping negative statements about my
fellow minister. ‘’Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka is my senior in the ministry and I love
him so much, and I pray for him almost on daily basis.
Since I was ordained a
priest, I have never preached about my fellow priest on the pulpit. “Maybe it
is a strategy to put anarchy and dissension between two priests, but then I am
very happy that people who saw the write up did not believe it and my
congregation knows what their spiritual director can do. “All my messages are
recorded even on Sundays and it was surprising that they claimed that I made
the said statement on a Monday when I don’t hold any public gathering on
Mondays.”
“I am not competing with anybody; there is no competition in destiny.
I am just following my divine call. I respect Fr Mbaka a lot and even in my
seminary days, I fought for him, to the extent of raising my hand on a fellow
seminarian, who dropped a cynical statement about him and because of that I was
penalized by the seminary authority. “My advice to followers of priest is to
know that they are dealing with ordained men of God. I have attained a certain
level of maturity in the ministry and I always subject everything to prayer and
waiting to hear from the Lord behind the curtain veil.”
