Conte says David Luiz will be fit to play Atletico Madrid
David Luiz will be fit for Chelsea's Champions League trip to Atletico Madrid despite breaking his wrist, according to Antonio Conte.
Luiz suffered the injury when he collided with advertising boards during Sunday's goalless draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
He was later shown a straight red card in the same game for his tackle on Sead Kolasinac making him miss Chelsea win against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. Luiz is still ineligible to play and will miss Chelsea's next two premier league games.
The Brazil international is eligible for European competition, though, and Conte expects him to play in Spain on Wednesday.
"He must be okay," Conte said. "David is an important player for us. For sure he will be ready for the game against Atletico Madrid."
Chelsea will go to Madrid top of Group C having beaten Qarabag 6-0 in their opening game.
