Benzema pens new four year deal

France international and Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema has extended his stay at the Bernabeu to 2021.

The 29-year-old joined Madrid from Lyon for £25m in 2009 and has gone to help the team win 14 trophies.

Transfer rumours had it that Benzema would leave the Spanish giants for Arsenal during the recent summer window, but Benzema said he had no intentions of leaving the club.

He said "When you're at a club and you're a first-team regular, you don't need to look elsewhere - especially when you're at a club like Real Madrid.

"I think we're in one of Real Madrid's best periods ever, it's as simple as that. The team is really very strong.
